Dark Sky Films has acquired the U.S. rights to American Dollhouse, a horror thriller written and directed by John Valley. The company plans to release the film in U.S. theaters in January 2027. It had its world premiere at SXSW earlier this year.
The story follows Sarah, who inherits her childhood home and is then stalked by a neighbor whose fixation turns violent. Hailley Lauren stars as Sarah, alongside Kelsey Pribilski, Tinus Seaux, Danielle Evon Ploeger and Richard C. Jones.
Blue Finch Films, which is handling international sales, has also sold the film to Vortex Media for Canada. The company will present the title to buyers at the American Film Market in Los Angeles next week.
Valley said he set out to examine the stories people tell themselves about home and family through a horror film. Dark Sky Films executive vice president Greg Newman said the director’s talent and vision drew the company’s attention. Newman negotiated the U.S. deal with Blue Finch’s Mike Chapman.
The film was produced by David Axe, Samuel Butler, Shane Greb, and Roosevelt Film Lab’s Christian Sosa and Jon Wroblewski.
