Singer Jackson Wang has signed with talent agency WME for representation across all areas, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The move comes as Wang seeks to broaden his work into acting.
Wang is currently appearing in an Apple campaign connected to his latest single, “Thank You,” released in September. He first rose to fame with K-pop group GOT7 and launched his solo career with the 2019 album “Mirrors.”
“Mirrors” made Wang the first Chinese solo artist to debut on the Billboard 200 albums chart. His later releases included “100 Ways,” which made him the first Chinese singer to debut on Mediabase’s U.S. top 40, and “LMLY,” which surpassed 103 million Spotify streams and entered the platform’s Global Viral 50 chart.
As a solo artist, Wang has collaborated with performers including Ciara, Swae Lee, Major Lazer, Galantis, Gucci Mane, Joji and GoldLink. He also founded Team Wang Records and Team Wang Design. Wang remains with Team Wang Records and Roc Nation alongside his new WME representation.
Born in Hong Kong, Wang became the first Chinese solo artist to perform on Coachella’s main stage in 2022. Ciara joined him during the set for their song “Slow.” He returned to the festival in 2023 and 2024.
Wang has also built a presence in fashion, partnering with Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Armani, Nike and Air Jordan. Through his Louis Vuitton partnership, he has worked with the fashion house’s creative director, Pharrell Williams.
