Jennifer Lawrence used a reference to The Hunger Games to encourage her followers to vote in the 2026 midterm elections. On Tuesday, she shared an Instagram Story showing herself making the franchise’s three-finger salute and included a link to Vote.org.
“Midterms bb. Don’t forget who burns with us,” Lawrence wrote. The line echoes a speech by her character, Katniss Everdeen, in Mockingjay – Part 1, which ends with: “If we burn, you burn with us!” Lawrence was also photographed making the salute in New York City on election day, wearing a braid reminiscent of Katniss.
The post comes after Lawrence confirmed on the Call Her Daddy podcast that she will appear in the upcoming prequel Sunrise on the Reaping alongside original cast members Josh Hutcherson and Woody Harrelson. She described returning to the franchise as “unbelievable” and said reuniting with the crew and cast was emotional.
Sunrise on the Reaping is scheduled to open on Nov. 25 and will tell the story of Haymitch Abernathy’s time in the Hunger Games.
