Jordan Firstman makes his feature directing debut with “Club Kid,” a comedy-drama in which he also plays Peter, a New York party promoter whose years of drug-fueled nightlife have left him struggling to manage his life. The film premiered at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival and is scheduled to open in U.S. theaters on Friday, November 6, through A24.

Set between Brooklyn nightlife and Peter’s home in Manhattan, the story takes a sharp turn when Edison, a woman he met years earlier, arrives from London with Arlo, his eight-year-old son. Peter had never known about the child, whose mother has died. The sudden responsibility forces him to reconsider the life he has built around parties and drug use.

Cara Delevingne plays Sophie, Peter’s friend and business partner, while Kirby Howell-Baptiste portrays Edison. Reggie Absalom plays Arlo, and Diego Calva appears as Oscar, a child psychologist with whom Peter begins a tentative romance. As Peter and Arlo grow closer, the boy becomes part of the queer community Peter considers his found family, while Peter faces the practical and emotional demands of caring for him.

The film moves from energetic nightclub scenes toward more serious family and legal complications. Its New York locations and music, including an original score by Cristobal Tapia de Veer, help frame Peter’s transition from party promoter to reluctant parent.

“Club Kid” was shot on 35mm in New York. Its backers include producer Alex Coco and filmmaker Olmo Schnabel. Firstman’s debut combines broad comedy with a more earnest story about family, responsibility and the bonds Peter forms with Arlo.
