Netflix has launched AI Discover, a new feature in its TV app designed to help viewers find something to watch. Available initially to a limited group of users in the United States, the tool lets people browse recommendations by choosing themes that match their mood or needs.

Options include “Something Light” and “Scare Me,” as well as selections for families, popular titles and shorter viewing. Each theme is previewed with a clip from a film or show. Viewers can refine the recommendations and tell Netflix to keep or stop suggesting a particular title.

AI Discover is not a text-based chatbot. Users select from preset options rather than typing requests, and the feature is currently limited to supported TVs. It is not available on mobile devices or children’s profiles.

Netflix says the feature uses a predictive intelligence model that responds in real time and learns from users’ preferences. The data collected through AI Discover will not be used to guide future content decisions, according to the company. The feature is being tested in English and is expected to become available to more users in the coming weeks. It appears with a red gem icon and a “New” label at the top of the screen.
