Neve Campbell has confirmed that she will return as Sidney Prescott in Scream 8. The actress told the Associated Press on Monday night that the next installment is in development, but declined to reveal further details about the film.

“I can never tell you anything about Scream 8,” Campbell said, before adding, “I’ll be in it!” She also mentioned that she has two television projects in development, one of which she has sold.

Campbell has been a key part of the franchise since the original 1996 film, appearing in its first four installments. She was absent from Scream VI after a dispute over her salary, then returned for Scream 7, which focused on Sidney and her daughter, Tatum, played by Isabel May.

Scream 8 was reported to be in development at Spyglass a month after Scream 7’s release. Sisters Lilla and Nora Zuckerman are writing the script. Kevin Williamson, who wrote the original film and directed Scream 7, has said he expects to step back from writing and directing the next installment.
