The Remarried Empress will premiere on Disney+ and Hulu on Nov. 3, one day earlier than its previously announced date. The first four episodes of the Korean fantasy romance will be available at launch, following the schedule change announced by its cast at a press conference in Seoul on Tuesday.
The series has 10 episodes. After the premiere, two new installments are set to arrive each Wednesday beginning Nov. 11, with the final two episodes scheduled for Nov. 25.
Starring Shin Min-a, Ju Ji-hoon, Lee Jong-suk and Lee Se-young, the show is based on the Naver Webtoon of the same name. Shin plays Navier, empress of the Eastern Empire, whose husband, Emperor Sovieshu (Ju), falls for Rashta (Lee Se-young). When Sovieshu asks for a divorce, Navier agrees on the condition that she can marry Crown Prince Heinrey (Lee Jong-suk) of the rival Western Kingdom.
Yeoh Geena and Hyun Choongyeol adapted the series for television, with Cho Suwon directing. The early release follows sold-out preview screenings at the Busan International Film Festival in October. Disney said the trailer received more than 13 million views across YouTube and social media in its first 48 hours; the original webtoon has accumulated nearly three billion views, according to the company.
