The war between the gods and the Titans moves closer in the third season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Disney+ has released a trailer that presents a darker tone for the series, both in its visuals and in the threats facing its young demigods.
The season’s story centers on Annabeth, played by Leah Sava Jeffries, after she is abducted. Percy, portrayed by Walker Scobell, sets out to rescue her with Grover (Aryan Simhadri) at his side. According to the season’s logline, Percy must free a goddess in chains, face the Titan’s curse and avoid setting off the fall of Olympus. He will also join unexpected companions while confronting a prophecy with severe consequences.
Charlie Bushnell and Tamara Smart return as Luke and Thalia. Levi Chrisopulos joins the regular cast as Nico di Angelo. Returning performers also include Dior Goodjohn as Clarisse La Rue, Daniel Diemer as Tyson, Glynn Turman as Chiron, Courtney B. Vance as Zeus, Jason Mantzoukas as Dionysus, Beatrice Kitsos as Allison Simms and Kevin Chacon as Chris Rodriguez.
The new season adds Olive Abercrombie as Bianca, Nico’s older sister; Dafne Keen as Artemis; Saara Chaudry as Zoë Nightshade, Artemis’ lieutenant; Jesse L. Martin as Frederick Chase; Holt McCallany as Atlas; David Costabile as Dr. Thorn; Kate McKinnon as Aphrodite; Ming-Na Wen as Hera; Jennifer Beals as Demeter; and Hubert Smielecki as Apollo.
Rick Riordan and Jonathan E. Steinberg created the series and executive produce the third season alongside Dan Shotz, Craig Silverstein, Rebecca Riordan, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Jeremy Bell, Bert Salke, James Bobin, Jim Rowe, Albert Kim, Sarah Watson and Tamara Becher-Wilkinson. Jet Wilkinson serves as an executive producer on the season’s final two episodes.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians premieres November 20 on Disney+. The season will release two episodes per week over four weeks.
